How Dokimore uses cookies and similar technologies
Last updated: 5 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-05
This Cookie Policy explains how Dokimore ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit or use our platform. This policy is compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC, as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC).
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better user experience, and supply information to the owners of the site.
Cookies can be "session" cookies (which are deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them). Cookies can also be "first-party" (set by the website you are visiting) or "third-party" (set by a different domain).
In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, and IndexedDB to store data locally on your device for performance and functionality purposes. This policy covers all such technologies.
2. How We Use Cookies
Dokimore uses cookies for the following general purposes:
Authentication and Security: To verify your identity, maintain your session, and protect against unauthorized access and cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks.
Preferences and Personalization: To remember your settings such as language, theme, dashboard layout, and other customization choices.
Analytics and Performance: To understand how users interact with our platform, measure feature usage, track performance metrics, and identify errors so we can continually improve our service.
Consent Management: To store your cookie consent preferences so that we respect your choices across sessions.
We operate on a principle of data minimization. We only set cookies that are necessary for the purposes described in this policy, and we do not use cookies to collect personally identifiable information beyond what is required for platform functionality.
3. Types of Cookies We Use
Strictly Necessary Cookies
Cannot Be Disabled
These cookies are essential for the operation of our platform. Without them, the platform cannot function properly. They include:
Authentication Tokens: Securely identify you after login and maintain your authenticated session across page navigations.
CSRF Protection: Protect against cross-site request forgery attacks by validating that form submissions and API requests originate from our platform.
Session Management: Maintain your session state, including active scan configurations, test parameters, and workspace context.
Load Balancing: Ensure requests are routed consistently to the same server instance during your session for optimal performance and data consistency.
Under GDPR Article 6(1)(f) and the ePrivacy Directive, these cookies are exempt from consent requirements as they are strictly necessary for the service you have requested.
Functional Cookies
Functional cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. These cookies remember:
Language Preferences: Your chosen display language so the platform interface is presented in your preferred language on subsequent visits.
Theme Settings: Your dark mode or light mode preference, ensuring a consistent visual experience across sessions.
Dashboard Layout: Custom widget arrangements, panel sizes, and module visibility settings you have configured in your dashboard.
Recent Searches: Your recent search queries and filters within the platform for quick access and convenience.
If you disable these cookies, some or all of these features may not function properly, and your preferences will not be remembered between sessions.
Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our platform. We use first-party analytics only - we do not send your usage data to third-party analytics providers such as Google Analytics. All analytics data is collected, processed, and stored on our own infrastructure.
Page Views: Which pages and features you visit, helping us understand navigation patterns and identify popular features.
Feature Usage: How you interact with specific tools such as the security scanner, API tester, and test automation modules.
Performance Metrics: Page load times, API response times, and other technical metrics that help us optimize platform performance.
Error Tracking: Client-side errors and exceptions that occur during your use of the platform, enabling us to identify and fix bugs quickly.
All analytics data is aggregated and anonymized. We do not use analytics cookies to build individual user profiles for advertising purposes.
Marketing and Advertising Cookies
Not used
We do not use marketing, advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and no advertising network or social-media pixel runs on our site. If that ever changes, it will be optional, off by default, and added to your privacy choices before it is switched on.
4. Cookie Table
The following table lists the specific cookies used by Dokimore, their purpose, classification, and retention period:
Cookie Name
Purpose
Type
Duration
refreshToken
Holds your sign-in refresh token so you stay logged in between visits without re-entering your password. It is HttpOnly (JavaScript, and therefore any cross-site scripting attempt, cannot read it),Secure in production, and SameSite=Strict, which is also what protects the endpoint against cross-site request forgery.
Strictly Necessary
7 days
aegis_refresh
The equivalent sign-in refresh token for the API Testing module, scoped by path so it is sent only to that module’s authentication endpoints. Same protections: HttpOnly, Secure,SameSite=Strict. Set only if you use API Testing.
Strictly Necessary
Until session expiry
Similar technologies (browser storage)
Cookies are not the only way information can be stored on your device, and the rules that apply to cookies apply equally to the alternatives. For product analytics we use your browser’s local and session storage rather than cookies:
Key
Storage
Purpose
Duration
qa_analytics_user_id
Local storage
A pseudonymous identifier used to count returning users and to join page views into a single journey. For signed-in users this is your account identifier; otherwise it is a randomly generated string.
Until you clear site data
qa_analytics_session_id
Session storage
Groups the page views in a single browsing session.
Until the tab is closed
qa_analytics_visits
Local storage
A local count of page visits, sent with analytics events.
Until you clear site data
qa_analytics_interactions
Local storage
A local buffer of interaction events (such as which features were opened) awaiting transmission.
Until you clear site data
These are first-party only: the data goes to our own servers in India, we do not sell or share it, and no third-party advertising or cross-site tracking network is involved. Nothing in this analytics group is written or sent until you accept it, and refusing or withdrawing removes the keys above straight away. The product works the same either way.
Storage that remembers your choice (strictly necessary)
Key
Purpose
Duration
qa_cookie_consent
Your analytics choice: “granted” or “denied”.
Until you change it or clear site data
qa_cookie_consent_receipt
When you chose, how (banner, preferences or your browser's privacy signal) and which version of this policy you chose against, so we can ask again if the policy changes.
Until you change it or clear site data
5. Third-Party Cookies
Dokimore takes a minimal approach to third-party cookies. We prioritize first-party solutions wherever possible to protect your privacy and reduce external data sharing.
In limited cases, third-party cookies may be set when you interact with embedded external services on our platform, such as:
Payment Processing: If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor may set cookies necessary to complete and secure the transaction.
Support Chat: If we integrate a third-party support widget, it may set its own cookies to maintain the chat session.
CDN Services: Content delivery networks used to serve static assets may set performance-related cookies.
We review all third-party services for GDPR compliance before integration. Each third-party provider operates under their own privacy and cookie policies. We do not control and are not responsible for cookies set by third parties.
6. How to Manage Cookies
You can manage your cookie preferences at any time. In addition to the cookie consent controls within our platform, most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. Here are instructions for the most popular browsers:
Google Chrome
Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data. You can block third-party cookies, block all cookies, or clear cookies when you close Chrome.
Go to Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data. Edge offers Basic, Balanced, and Strict tracking prevention levels.
Please note that browser-level cookie settings apply to all websites you visit, not just Dokimore. For control over our site specifically, use your privacy choices below.
Your privacy choices
You can change your analytics choice at any time: . If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, analytics stay off automatically and we do not ask.
7. Impact of Disabling Cookies
Disabling certain categories of cookies may affect your experience on QA Automation. Here is what you can expect:
Strictly necessary cookies and storage: these cannot be switched off in our settings. Blocking them in your browser stops the platform working: you will not be able to sign in, keep a session or submit forms securely. Your display preferences (such as theme and language) are kept in the same way.
Analytics: off unless you turn it on. Leaving it off changes nothing about how the platform works; it only limits what we learn about which pages help people.
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies, so there is nothing else to switch off.
8. Do Not Track Signals
Some web browsers transmit "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals to websites. There is currently no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals.
Global Privacy Control (GPC): we honour the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends it, optional analytics stay off, we do not show you the choice banner, and the analytics switch in your privacy choices is locked off. We treat GPC as an opt-out for every visitor, wherever you live, not only where a law requires it.
Do Not Track (DNT): we do not read the DNT header, because it has no agreed meaning across browsers and the standard was abandoned. It would make no difference here anyway: optional analytics are off unless you turn them on, and we set no advertising or cross-site tracking technology at all.
9. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will:
Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
Display a prominent notice on our platform informing you of the changes.
Where required by law, seek your renewed consent for any new cookie categories or expanded data processing purposes.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acknowledgment of the updated policy. For material changes to cookie categories or data processing, we will reset your consent preferences so you can make an informed choice.
10. Contact Information
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Cookie Policy or our use of cookies and similar technologies, please contact us:

Your choice about analytics
We use one optional analytics tool, run on our own servers, to see which pages help people. It stays off unless you turn it on. Storage needed to sign you in, keep the site secure and remember this choice is always on. Cookie Policy
