JSON validator and formatter

Validate, format or minify JSON. Everything runs in your browser; nothing you paste is sent anywhere.

What counts as valid JSON

  • Keys and strings use double quotes; single quotes are not JSON.
  • No trailing comma after the last item of an object or array.
  • No comments. A configuration file with comments is JSON5 or JSONC, not JSON.
  • Numbers have no leading zeros and no hexadecimal form; NaN and Infinity are not allowed.

Your choice about analytics

We use one optional analytics tool, run on our own servers, to see which pages help people. It stays off unless you turn it on. Storage needed to sign you in, keep the site secure and remember this choice is always on. Cookie Policy
