The audit nobody runs
Testing stacks grow one urgent purchase at a time: an API client for the backend team, a UI framework plus a paid dashboard, a load-testing service before a launch, a scanner after a security questionnaire. Each purchase made sense. The stack that results rarely does.
Run the audit yourself. It takes fifteen minutes. List every testing tool with a renewal, its per-seat price, and which of its features another tool in your stack also has. Most teams find five or six line items and meaningful overlap: two tools that make API calls, two that take screenshots, three that produce reports nobody merges.
The hidden costs are worse than the subscriptions
- Context switching: every tool is another login, another UI, another place results live.
- Data silos: your API tests can't reuse your UI test's auth state; your load results don't link to functional failures.
- Onboarding: every new QA hire learns N tools before they are productive.
- Procurement: N renewals, N vendor reviews and N security questionnaires, every year.
The consolidation arithmetic
Our Team plan is $199/month for up to 16 seats, which is under $13 per seat, and covers UI recording, API testing, performance, security scanning, and accessibility in one asset base. We are not the best-of-breed in every category on day one; the case is that all six categories share one login, one data model, and one bill. Compare that to your audit line items and the decision usually makes itself.
How we measured this
- Prices and seat counts are the plan catalog on the article date (2026-08-01). The pricing page, the billing catalog seed and the subscription tests are drift-tested against each other, so the figures here match what checkout charges.
- Renewal counts and overlap in the audit are yours to fill in. We publish no industry average because we have not measured one.
